Devious Journal EntryHere you can take a look to my paintings. Often the idea comes from quite elementary digital drawings and retouchings. They are "digital mock-ups" on which I then "leave to settle" the traditional painting, as in a sort of revealing regression, a motorcycle reverse. I’m presenting traditional works where however the sinopia of the paintings - what it is supposed to be the first outline of the work, over which is then painted (the preparatory study)- is designed ab origine on the PC.
The allegiance to our history, understood as fertile plotting of humanity, is a peculiar element of my artistic personality.
Frequently my work in suggesting again artists of the past, pretending to be a calendar, a manifest or even a cover design, or worst.. This is to emphasise our increasingly instinctively superficial relationship with visual representations and with their already colourful heritage of meanings.
I don’t restrict myself painting “digital sinopias”. Other forms of painting resurge on contemporary “object trouvé”, or straight on dead canvas: Eridania series. Moreover I offer a kind of painting called “fondo bolo” (bolus background). I have created this mixed technique, which makes use of certain proceedings craft -in a rather freely way- which were used for centuries in the preparation of areas to gild. The dark lines that I drew on the red backdrop are intend to symbolize thoughts, sometimes hopes which await the application of gold.. Sparkles of life and emotions, above which something precious and eternal will lie, and will inevitably erase everything else left.
DEVIANTART:
My favourite symbols, since long time, are a "Tree which is caught in the act of painting" and a "Trojan horse in stopping ban". They represent very well my way of communicating with this “site-mates”. Indeed, through a "random" combination between my works and those of other artists (among which I choose my favourites) I set them up to create additional meanings, i.e. in order to create an umpteenth key to interpretation, often ambiguous and contradictory, for my and others' works in a way both spontaneous and provisional…

Per me è naturale esprimersi e trarre ispirazione dalla natura, insomma è naturale dipingere..
Attraverso questa pagina online è possibile visionare alcuni miei dipinti, dal vario significato. Spesso l’idea di questi quadri nasce grazie a disegni digitali e fotoritocchi abbastanza elementari, che soltanto successivamente trasferisco su carta, attraverso una stampa a getto d'inchiostro. Si tratta di “bozzetti digitali” dove poi lascio sedimentare la pittura tradizionale, come in una sorta di regressione rivelatrice, di moto inverso. Dunque presento opere tradizionali la cui sinopia - ciò che un tempo era il primo abbozzo dell’opera, su cui si dipingeva poi sopra - è concepita al computer. Una mia costante è l’ossequio alla nostra storia, intesa come fertile tramando d’umanità.
Di frequente la mia opera, nel riproporre gli artisti del passato, finge di essere un calendario, un manifesto d’arte o peggio.. Per porre in evidenza il sempre più istintivamente superficiale rapporto che abbiamo nei confronti delle rappresentazioni visive, un tempo variopinto patrimonio di significati.
Non mi limito alle "sinopie digitali". Altre forme di pittura risorgono su odierni “oggetti-trovati”, o direttamente sulla tela che muore: Serie Eridania. Infine propongo il “fondo bolo”. Si tratta di una tecnica mista da me ideata che si avvale, in maniera piuttosto libera, di alcuni procedimenti artigianali che da secoli servono alla preparazione delle superfici da dorare. Le linee scure che ho tracciato sul campo rosso intendono rappresentare pensieri, talvolta speranze, che attendono l’applicazione dell’oro.. Guizzi di vita e di emozioni, su cui si incollerà sopra qualcosa di prezioso ed eterno, che inevitabilmente finirà per cancellare tutto il resto.

I miei simboli preferiti, già da diverso tempo, sono un “Albero “colto” nell’atto di dipingere” ed un “Cavallo di Troia in divieto di sosta”, che rappresentano bene anche il mio modo di comunicare coi coinquilini di questo sito. Infatti, attraverso un “casuale” accostamento di una mia opera con quelle degli altri artisti, che scelgo come preferite, faccio in modo che si creino significati aggiunti.. cioè che si crei una ennesima chiave di lettura, spesso ambigua e contraddittoria, della mia e delle opere altrui in maniera tanto spontanea quanto provvisoria..
